Since 1997, every year in the month of December, the institute holds a diagnostic and surgical camp for the economically weak from remote areas around Nashik like Peth, Harsool, Surgana, Trimbak etc. A team of paramedical staff select patients from these places. As a policy, the patients chosen are children and young adults who need major surgical intervention for their cure. The institute then, at its own expenses or through philanthropic co-participants, arranges to get these patients transported from their villages to the institute. Here these patients get their primary consultation, pre-operative treatment, investigations, pharmacy, food, sometimes clothing, surgery, hospitalization and postoperative care. All this is done at no cost to the patients. After their treatment, the patients are sent back to their villages. The philosophy of the institute is to “reach those who can not reach the institute”.

Recently through its outreach program the institute has registered IMEMIRC as a charitable trust. In the very first year of its existence, IMEMIRC has organized free surgical camps, supported six children for cochlear implants and have assisted five children for college educational fees.

IMEMIRC is registered under Income Tax Act 1961, sections 12-A and 80-G for deduction in respect of donations to the institute.
